Helping Hands for Single Moms: Single moms have a tough road ahead of them as they face a difficult financial situation while balancing their kids lives mostly alone. Helping Hands provides a path to allow these moms to get an education and a job to assist them in gaining their independence and financial security. In December, Helping Hands holds an annual event to celebrate the accomplishments of these women called Holiday Happiness. We as a church have sponsored two moms each year for the past three years for this event. In November, we start buying gifts for the mom as well as for the kids to help them through the Christmas season as they attempt to work, go to school and raise a family as a single parent.
